The VR4Empathy booklet on lesson plans is now available to download in English, Portuguese, Greek and Slovenian.
The booklet brings together, in one place, the eight lesson plans developed by the project and the ten 360º virtual reality videos that support them. It is designed for upper-secondary teachers who want to use virtual reality to help students understand other people’s experiences and turn that understanding into action.
The lessons cover the three themes of the project: European citizenship and diversity, European historical facts, and European social common values. Students explore topics such as migration and multiculturalism, refugees during the Second World War, biodiversity and sustainability, art under dictatorship, democracy and digital literacy.
Each lesson plan has an overview page with its theme, the subjects it fits, its main objective, duration and type of activities. A second page links to the VR videos, each available in the four project languages. The lessons last 90 minutes (adaptable to 45) and can be taught on their own or as a sequence. One set of VR goggles per small group is enough.
The booklet is a companion to the full Handbook of Lesson Plans, which describes each activity in detail and includes handouts and annexes.
