«Nine design thinking workshops were promoted to get some hints and thoughs from students and teachers on what partners should consider when deigning the VR-based resources.»
The project is gaining momentum across Europe, with recent workshops successfully conducted in Portugal, Greece, and Slovenia. These workshops brought together teachers and students to explore the potential of virtual reality (VR) technology in the classroom, focusing on motivation, engagement, and the future of teaching.
In Portugal, 3 schools hosted workshops where 12 teachers and 55 students reflected on key topics such as motivation to teach or learn, the ideal classroom setting, and strategies for integrating VR into everyday lessons. Participants shared their insights and ideas, contributing to a broader understanding of how VR can enhance the educational experience.
«With this workshop I’ve learned something new about my interests and motivation to learn» Opinion of a student
Meanwhile, in Greece, other workshops where held in 3schools, involving 9 teachers and 36 students from both lower and upper secondary levels. The focus here was on how to engage students more effectively and prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century using VR technology. These sessions emphasized the importance of creating dynamic and interactive learning environments that resonate with today’s digital-native students.
«After the workshop I can understand better how we can use smart glasses in our classes and schools.» Opinion of a student
In Slovenia, 3 workshops were promoted in the schools of Maribor, Velenje, and Novo Mesto. Here, 38 students and 15 teachers collaborated to generate ideas for VR content tailored to secondary education. The insights gathered from these sessions are set to play a crucial role in shaping the future use of VR glasses in Slovenian schools, ensuring that the technology meets the needs and expectations of its future users.
«I am surprised with the participation and the ability of some students to have new and interesting ideas» Opinion of a teacher
The results from these 9 workshops promoted, engaging 36 teachers and 129 students will allow partners to develop the VR-based resources to be used by the school. As such, the project promises to revolutionize educational practices by integrating cutting-edge VR technology, making learning more immersive, engaging, and effective across Europe.
