The European project VR4Empathy – Using virtual reality for inclusive and action-oriented empathy in schools (nr. 101132844) aims to structure VR-based educational resources for students to approach historical facts, common social values, citizenship and diversity in Europe to promote their cognitive empathy.

The project foresees the shooting and identification of videos on these topics suitable to be watched by students through smart glasses. By using virtual reality, students will have the opportunity to have sensorial experiences as a starting point to reflect, discuss and learn about diverse topics to be approached in their classes, subjects or projects.

A set of instructions, activities and exercises will be prepared to support teachers exploring these videos with their students, aligned with the learning outcomes, themes and competences foreseen to be covered in their subjects.

Teachers and students of upper-secondary level of education are the main beneficiaries of the project and they will be challenged to contribute to VR4Empathy in different moments of its implementation. However, other organisations and professionals as policy makers, from the business and technology sector or even the school community will have the opportunity to join the EdTech Network and support the VR4Empathy consortium paving the way as VR Innovators!

The VR4Empathy consortium integrates 3 public authorities, 2 universities and 2 private companies that together will design, test and validate  VR-based educational resources in the schools of the Network, while producing policy recommendations to ease the use of VR-based educational resources in the classroom of the countries of the consortium!
