From stepping into the tiny world of a bee to witnessing the devastating effects of a changing climate on the seasons, these 360° VR scenarios are set to revolutionize the way students engage with the planet’s future.
A co-design session involving Slovenian teachers was held on November 25, 2024, in Ljubljana. This collaborative session brought together 14 teachers from five participating schools, along with six representatives from the Ministry of Education Slovenia and the University of Ljubljana. The primary objective was to develop immersive VR film scenarios that explore the impact of climate change on European biodiversity.
As a result, two compelling 360° VR video scenarios were created:
- Be the Bee – An interactive experience that allows students to perceive the world from the perspective of a bee, highlighting the crucial role of pollinators in biodiversity.
- Human as the Last Airbender – Preserving The Four Seasons – A narrative-driven experience illustrating the devastating impact of climate change on natural seasonal cycles.
These scenarios are designed to enhance students’ cognitive empathy by providing immersive learning experiences, supplemented by pre- and post-viewing activities. With the support of our project partner, Khora Virtual Reality, this content will be seamlessly integrated into classroom lessons.

«The shared effort in creating the scenario was truly enjoyable. It was great to see the project leaders actively participating rather than leaving the process entirely to the teachers.»
«The scenario creation process emphasized a relaxed atmosphere and synergy among all participants.»
